Hey, my darling Guides!

It's 1230pm in Singapore, and guess what time is it in Mexico? It's 1022pm, and it's the 20th of March over here.

I had my first salsa lesson just an hour ago, and although I admit I have two left feet, it was awesome! I have made friends with Guides from Kenya, Malaysia, Denmark, The Netherlands, Cook Islands and so many more! I can assure you that no other movements in the entire world has members from every corner of the world!

The weather here is very cooling and I do not miss Singapore's weather one bit. I just miss my sambal. Mexican chilli is great and it cannot rival the sambal or belacan in Singapore.

The flight to Mexico was long and tiring. Luckily, Shainaz (YA), is with me and there is someone to talk to. I am currently suffering from jet lagged and I am trying to "convince" my body that I should sleep soon instead of being awake. =)

I am so inspired Guides! Sometimes, you forget how lucky you are living in a country like Singapore. I talked to Evelyn, a Guide from Kenya, and the opportunities you (and I) receive in Singapore such as having an access to education is something that we overlook. Or having the freedom to speak your opinions to others. Or even having access to clean water and sanitation!

There are so many things that I have learnt just in one day and I cannot wait to learn more. I can hear laughter of Guides chatting and see Guides huddled together discussing their ideas.

I hope that most of you will continue your Guiding journey and one day volunteer in one of the World Centres.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind take one year of sabbatical and volunteering in one of the World Centres.

I never thought that one day I will fall in love with Guiding. Once I return, we will start discussing and advocate on something that we as a unit believe in. I love the fact that there is no PNA discussion here, but more one how do we as Guides, can be the agents of change.

So BDS 1st Coy, please settle your differences and work together hand in hand to make Guiding a powerful movement in BDS. We will meet challenges along the way, but fear not, as long as we have each other and we believe in the things we do, I am sure we will succeed.

Till my next update. I think each patrol should take turns to update this blog. Do not let it be stale.
