YIG,
Miss Huda
We started off with today’s training with role call and colour party. :)
The PLs then helped the juniors to adjust their attire, as some of them looked messy.
After that, we headed for 1G classroom to conduct our activities there.
We arranged the tables and got cracking.
PLs went to check their members’ thrift book. Much more improvement as compared to last week's progress, but there's more room for improvements.
Ms Huda instructed the PLs to pass her all of the members' thrift book for a spot check.
She then suggested that we standardize the format of our thrift book by patrols... PATROL SPIRIT! :)
After that, we were told of some important dates. (Will be updating later in the previous post!)
East Division Day is coming, wheeeeeeee! :)
Then, we gave our handbooks to Ms Huda, to let her know our progress.
We were then graded groups by groups:
1. Sec 1s to work on their 5-point programme, I think (sorry I wasn't there!)
2. A few Sec 2s and 3s to finish up the remaining modules.
3. Geraldine, Aqilah, Limin, Yi Xuan, Melanie and I to learn knots! (What I call the Knotters) [Oh by the way, that's for the Knotter Badge]
4. Some of the Guides learnt how to sew. Tacking and herringbone.
The only update I know is that the Sec 1s have to finish their household chore assignments with photos and a few write ups from parents! Wheeeeeeeeeeee!
Some of the Guides have to work on the ASEAN assignment.
The Knotters then proceeded to the Guides room to grab some poles, twine and knot books to learn and revise on our knots.
We then proceeded to learn our knots. Learning knots was actually FUN, if you're determine to learn it. HEHE! :D
bowline, clove-hitch, donkey hitch, double overhand, fisherman’s, man harness, packer’s reef, round turn and two half hitches, sheet-bend, timber hitch.
Okay, so there'll be a test on knots next week for all Sec 2s and 3s! So good luck people and learn your knots! :)
After doing all of the 5-point programme and proficiency badges stuff, we came to the fun part.
TOY MAKING USING FELT PAPER! :)
First, we were asked to choose our colour of felt paper. Well, I took the maroon colour and shared it with Mubeena, Elizabeth and Kthi.
We then were asked to tear out a paper from our exercise book, and outline an monster that we desire. Highlight of the day: MapleStory characters! :D
I drew Mushroom, I helped Eli to draw a Slime and Kthi's a zombie (well, there's a zombie in Maple, you know, the way to Zakum there, you can kill zombies and get some golden tooth and stuff). Well, Gerry and XK drew a mushroom, Melanie drew a slime. :)
Well, the exceptional part is where I drew a Pac Man for Mubeena. HEHE.
We then cut out the monster and drew the outline on the felt paper (double layerd)
We then cut the felt and starting sewing the eyes (buttons) and mouth (different coloured felt paper) onto it (single layered). It was fun to learn to make our own toys and sew at the same time. :D
Then, we sew the second layer of felt paper onto the first layer. But, only sew a third quarter of it as we have to stuff the cotton wool (or rather, crepe paper) into it to make it PLUSH! :D
So I started sewing and stuffed cotton wool and crepe paper into my mushroom... And then I continue to sew the whole thing until it is sealed.
WHEEEEEEE, TADAH, your felt-monster-toy is completed!!! :)
Everyone's felt toys looked awesome and uber cute.
(Well, you know, mushrooms and my hair is associated)
So after that we cleared the classroom and headed back for the Guides room to sing taps.
We were then dismissed. :)
We did not go home empty handed, YAY! :)
Note:
Breaking Fast with Ms Huda next Friday! :D [19/8]
We will go to Kembangan and makan first (they break fast at around 7.17PM, and wanna leave at around 7.45PM). After that, we'll proceed to Geylang and play and eat. WHEEEEEEEE. The whole thing will end around at 9PM.
So please confirm your attendance.
That's all! :D

Friday 5 August 2011, we did alot of art and craft activities, which were patrol-against-patrol competition. There were 3 activites we have to do. The first one was to decorate our own mascot using a styrofoam ball, coloured paper, coloured strings and other art materials within a certain limit of time. We can get extra 10 minutes if we answer the a question correctly on guides history.
The second activity was done individually and needed creativity and patience. We made a stress ball each using only 1 balloon, flour and newspaper. The newspaper will then be folded in a cone shape, to act as a funnel to let the flour enter the balloon smoothly. Newspaper have to be laid out as the flour will leaked out from the funnel. During this process, we have to be patient as the flour will have a hard time entering the balloon. After that, we can finally decorate our stress ball!
The third activity was a patrol activity, which uses much creativity and brain-racking. We were tasked to design any accessories like hairbands, or made any handmade toy with the art materials. It is preferred that the design has flowers on it. After decorating it, we have to present it to the whole guides and explain what is it about. We had alot of fun doing this hands-on activities! :)

Hey! Kingfisher reporting in for blog duty!
So on Friday, we did some awesome activities! After roll call, we settled into our awesome patrols! Oh oh, a visitor from WAGGS came to observe us too!
Ms Huda first made the sec 3 present their awesome Heritage Trails in Kampong Glam and Chinatown. :D
And then I forgot...?
Anyway, we had a bunch of awesome activities. First was making a angry bird, I mean Mascot! And of course Kingfisher had to make an angry bird, I mean, Kingfisher! But sadly, halfway, the people involved with national day had to go, but it's k, it was awesome too!
So all of us headed to the hall, where we met the other UGs. And we got a briefing :D So we started practicing first, then, was a trial,
We practiced backstage while waiting to use the stage! We had to practise with the Scouts who were so so soft... I guess we can really exchange the pants and skirts XD
So we finally got to rehearse on stage, nervous but it was fun! So that was the first round~
We waited around backstage again for the second round. Great to have the other awesome UGs for company eh :D
After some time, we rehearsed again! The second round was definitely muchh better! Mr. Azman briefed us for a while, then, we could return back to our awesome UGs!
Anyway, to those involved with our awesome country's birthday celebration,
Report to the hall, backstage, in FULL uniform with boots, by 0705! Remember to polish boots arh! And bring gloves in case I guess.
And someone told us that you guys back in the classroom were dancing without us! Tsk tsk. So we got back to the classroom and then.. I forgot...
We cleared up and went back to guides room. Sang taps and DISMISSED! :D It was a awesome day! Sorry I couldnt post about the activities since I wasn't there.
Have an awesome National Day!

It will conducted by Geylang United FC in school!
We shall decide on the training dates together during Friday's meeting. Yes, it will be a compulsory event as this will part of our unit organized activity. This will be included in our PNA.

YIG,
Miss Huda

I was pretty much bored yesterday, so I came up with the logo!
Yay, another representation of Dove. :)
Description...
Vignette sides to remind us to remember our past, hardships, to let us stay resilient and preserver.
Crest outlines to represent that we're tough as knight in shining amour... Yea! ;)
Dove emblem in the center... Once a Dove, always a Dove.
Dove in Green remind us to be eco-friendly. (We peace mother nature!)
'You snooze, You lose' slogan to remind us to be ever competitive.
Peace logo = Dove represents peace, aye? ;)
All in all, our logo bond all of the Doveans together. :) TEAMWORK!
D... for DOVE! PEACEZXC ;D
